Kingcott Dairy is owned and run by Steve and Karen Reynolds who produce fine hand- made cheeses along with fresh milk and cream on our dairy farm in Kent, using milk only from our own herd of pedigree Holstein Friesian and Brown Swiss cows.
Coming from a long line of West country dairy farmers, the Kingcott family, Steve bought Iden Manor Farm, a small dairy farm just outside Staplehurst in the heart of the beautiful Kent countryside in 1990.
In 2009 we decided to make more use of our delicious raw product – milk, and started cheese production in a purpose built dairy. It had to be blue cheese, Steve’s favourite, and Kentish Blue was the result. A couple of years later in 2011 we developed a second, softer blue cheese, Kentish Bluebell.
2013 was dedicated to the launch of our online shop and website, and keeping up with the growing demand for our blue cheese in restaurants and shops around London.
This year 2015, our son Frank has joined in and has seen the launch of our fresh milk and cream - Kentish Free Range Milk. We have now started bottling our main product, milk, and supply to local shops around the Staplehurst area and surrounding villages.
Firmly believing that happy, healthy cows produce the best tasting milk, we make sure that the whole milking herd has free access to our fields for grazing during spring, summer and autumn.We do not restrict them and prefer to see them out at grass rather than shut in sheds and yards whenever possible.
Since we began, the quality and flavour of our cheeses has been recognised by awards from the British Cheese Awards, World Cheese Awards, Great Taste and Taste of Kent for both Kentish Blue and Kentish Bluebell.
